Their teacher Mrs Eithne McClarnon got in touch asking if it was okay if the pupils were to look at my work as a source of inspiration and study.
Each month, they look at a different artist and all of the classes try to replicate it. They chose me as their artist of the month which was a real honour and picked one of my paintings entitled "Closer to Home" as their main focus of study. This was a painting of Harland and Wolfe cranes and the kids were very familiar with this landmark so stood out as as a very signigficant image their teacher explained.
Followed by this there were quite a few questions they wanted to know so was fun answering some general questions from the kids asking what my favourite painting was, when did I start painting and what motivates and inspires me etc. General things like that.
I promised I would put a blog up on my website showing off their work and of those who won prizes that month so here you go Saint Anthonys Primary School. Check out the work of P1 to P7 Primary school kids. Really impressed with their drawings and know they will get a kick out of seeing their work online.
